Our Kitchen Garden provides opportunities for the children to plant, care for and harvest a range of seasonal vegetables; learning about real life mathematics in context under the direction of their classroom teacher.
There are different vegetable plots a strawberry and bean and tomato patch and a compatible planting experimental area. Several parents assist grades with planting.
Many years ago during a special activities week, the children made two life size scarecrows, Strawberry and Mac, to watch over our garden.
We have been lucky enough to have the addition of chickens to our kitchen/garden program. They are a popular addition to our school grounds.
